Hotel Grand Pacific announces sponsorship of Victoria Royals and awards luncheon series

Victoria property offers what travelers want, where they want it, and for a limited time,
at the price they ask for

October 20, 2011; Victoria, B.C. – With an Inner Harbour location that can’t be beaten, fresh air balconies in every room, an on-site athletic club and spa, unique food and beverage options, and personalised service, some would say that an indulgent stay at the Hotel Grand Pacific is priceless. But a price is exactly what the hotel will be looking for from their guests with their new “Pay What You Want” promotion.

From October 27 through to November 11, the four-Diamond property is inviting travellers to visit to answer a number of questions about what they’re looking for in a hotel, and to tell the property how much they think a night at the Hotel Grand Pacific is worth. Along with a price, travellers enter the dates that they would like to stay at the hotel. Ten rooms for each night between October 28 and December 23 will be available at a “Pay What You Want” rate, with no reasonable offer refused and availability determined on a first come, first served basis.

“While we feel that the Hotel Grand Pacific is offering lifestyle travellers what they are looking for, in the location that they want, we’re making guest input and feedback a top priority,” says General Manager, Reid James. “Our list of services and amenities are constantly evolving, and the best way to make sure that we’re offering the unique, personalised experience that guests are looking for is to ask them.”

Guests who are successful in getting a room for the price they name will be required to provide feedback on the Hotel Grand Pacific’s amenities and services both during and after their stay. This information will then be used to adapt, upgrade and change the property’s product offerings in the future.

Along with this innovative fall sales promotion, the Hotel Grand Pacific has also launched a number of other initiatives that are the result of listening to what their guests are looking for. Located in the hotel’s lobby, the new WAVE Lounge offers all hotel guests high speed Wi-Fi access and the use of iPads, along with comfortable seating that invites relaxing and socializing. All guest rooms and suites now feature complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi internet access, with the option to upgrade to Victoria’s only ultra-high speed fibre optic internet service for a small additional fee.

Another addition resulting from guest feedback is the new Pampered Pooch program. Visiting pups will now be provided with a plush doggy bed, organic treats, use of food and water bowls, and a doggie clean-up kit. A doggie “do not disturb” sign will also be provided so that housekeeping staff know that a pet is in the room. The program is $50 for up to four nights, and includes the cleaning of all fabrics and carpet upon the guests’ departure. Hungry canines will also appreciate the new Doggie Delight room service menu for in-room dining.

The hotel will also launch a new Urban Room class in early 2012 – rooms will feature upgraded bathroom amenities, flat screen televisions, complimentary ultra-high speed fibre optic internet access, customized minibars and functional furniture designed with the business traveller in mind. Work on the roll-out of the Urban Rooms has already begun, but the hotel will be actively soliciting input from guests to learn what they would like to see in these new rooms.

The Hotel Grand Pacific offers guests what they want, where they want it. Conveniently located on the Inner Harbour in downtown Victoria, it is the perfect choice for the lifestyle traveller seeking an alternative from the traditional branded hotel stay.  With 304 spacious guestrooms and suites, the Hotel Grand Pacific is renowned for delivering an exceptional and personalized guest service experience.
