SORA Spa Takes Pampering to New Heights
Spa at Hotel Grand Pacific brings Asian-style relaxation and wellness to Victoria
Victoria, B.C. – Now officially open, the new SORA Spa at the Hotel Grand Pacific is bringing Asian-inspired pampering and treatments to locals and hotel guests alike. Formerly known as “Spa at the Grand,” the spa has been renovated, reimagined and rebranded in recognition of the Asian thread that runs throughout the hotel.
SORA, which means “sky” in Japanese, features five treatment rooms (including one double room) in the 1,200 square foot space, offering a full menu of services from signature massage treatments and botanical facials using Pevonia products, manicures and pedicures, through to finishing touches such as waxing and tinting.
“Spa treatments inspired by the Far East are a big trend, and now we can offer them in Victoria in a tranquil, refined space,” said Reid James, general manager of the Hotel Grand Pacific. “Along with our Asian ownership, the hotel was also built according to feng shui principles, and we offer a strong tea program and weekend dim sum. Given the Asian influence that is found throughout the property, introducing SORA as our new spa concept just made sense to us.”
All SORA guests are invited to start their experience in the spa’s lounge with a warm jasmine-scented towel and a selection from the tea bar. The teas come from both Victoria’s Silk Road tea company, and botanical skincare company Pevonia. Signature treatments at the spa include:
Traditional Thai Massage
Using gentle stretching and manipulation of the body and limbs, this massage improves energy flow and releases tension.
Thai Stem Massage
Herb-filled cotton bags (stems) are heated and used to massage the body, offering an excellent choice for those looking to detoxify and increase circulation.
Eye Treatment for Puffiness and Dark Circles
This natural fibre mask reduces puffiness and dark circles with Collagen Fibre and Ginkgo Biloba. This treatment soothes, cools and decongests while visibly rejuvenating the delicate eye area.
Tropical Oasis: Mango-Passion Fruit Yogurt Wrap - With mango to brighten and tone, and passion-fruit to nourish and heal, this luscious wrap refreshes tired skin, which emerges firmed, glowing and toned.
