Check out how we're doing our part here.

Vertitree Partnership

Devastating wildfires have become an annual occurrence in British Columbia. But, with your help, the Hotel Grand Pacific is doing our part to help replenish these vital ecosystems and support future wildlife habitats. We’ve expanded our Green Initiative program by partnering with Veritree to plant 2 trees for every night you stay and decline a stayover room clean. The trees are planted specifically in areas of BC affected by wildfire and you can follow their progress by visiting our Impact Hub.

To participate, simply ask your reservation agent when you book your room, or a member of our guest services team when you check in.

Recycling Resources

  • Hotel staff recycles paper, cardboard, glass, cans, and plastics, and “blue boxes” are placed in all guest rooms to encourage guest participation in the program.
  • Used toners and printer cartridges are recycled from offices and the Business Centre.
  • Landfill Diversion uses our leftover soap to make laundry detergent that is then sold in local grocery stores.
  • Warm air from the pool area at the on-site Victoria Athletic Club is reclaimed and used to pre-warm the hotel’s hot water, reducing the amount of energy required to heat water used at the property.

Outdoors

  • All landscaping at the hotel is organic with a completely natural integrated pest management system in place.
  • The energy management system enhances guest security and decreases energy use and operating costs using infrared technology.
